What Our Customers Say

This little market is really nice from the fresh quality produce to the helpful and friendly staff. I am a new frequent shopper here as I just found out about this place when recently looking for some local honey and a family relative recommended this produce market. Since then I have picked up many things from here and have had absolutely zero problems with the food I purchase. Most recently I picked up some heirloom tomatoes and organic cilantro that I used to make into a nice “pico” for some homemade tortilla chips. This is a great place to shop if you want to find fresh local produce, so you can eat a little bit better.
Love it, love it, love it! Hands down the best place in the whole Concord-Walnut Creek area to get fresh local produce. Ya, it’s small… but if you want a big-box supermarket, go to Safeway! I still go to those places to get my processed stuff, but for produce, I’ll drive 10 minutes out of the way just to get quality at rock-bottom prices. Bottom line is you’re gonna pay at least a third less at Pleasant Hill Market for far better quality produce than at the big-box stores. I actually walked out of there once with two bags of produce for ONLY $10!!! And since the produce is local, you can do your little part to leave a smaller footprint.
Most affordable quality produce in the Area. Always fresh. Super nice and helpful staff. Love the owners. Love seeing one of owners riding his low rider bike in the 4th of July parade. LOVE to support a good local business. Go see them, buy produce, rinse, and repeat. You will not be disappointed!
Terrific produce at great prices! The quality of the lettuce is always better than Safeway at a lesser price. That pretty much holds true throughout the store. I also like to buy eggs, local & organic, cheeses, and Kefir. Recently they had a bin of oranges for $0.39 lb – such a good deal! Owners are very nice too. We are lucky to have them here in Pleasant Hill!
A great local produce market. Go local!!! This great LOCAL business is kitty corner from Big Dave’s Bikes. I would go there just for the locally grown walnuts and local honey, but suffice it to say that I’m never disappointed in the quality of their fresh local produce , and the high standard of customer service here.
My husband and I love walking down to this local corner market for groceries!! Supporting a local business is always nice. Their produce prices can’t be beat, and they also have specialty items like kimchi and kefir. Service is great, staff is always very friendly. Can’t be beat!
I love this place, it’s like going to a farmers market or a very small mom-and-pop scale of something in pikes market in Seattle. I am very thankful for what the twin brothers are doing. Keep up the great customer service and work!
Great mom and pop kind of feel. Fresh and local produce, as well of a bunch of other grocery items – AND I can get in and out of there fast! I like browsing the olive oils and other gourmet-ish items too. Overall, I can’t find a reason to give this fine establishment anything less than 5 stars.
This place is one of those places you drive by and say “Oooo I should stop there.” Then you keep driving by and forget. Then two weeks later you’re in the neighborhood…again and you say the same thing. I finally stopped this time. I’m glad I did! I found everything plus more than I really wanted. Prices are affordable and you get a major variety of fresh local produce. I got more than veggies and fruit. I also loaded up on Milk, Ice Cream and several other grocery items. I like that it has all local dairy products. At the counter they have a selection of local bakery items and I got a facasia pizza that was so gooood. The best I’ve ever had.
Love this place! I normally stop here for produce after hitting a regular grocery store first. Prices for non-produce items (canned goods, baking supplies, milk, juice, frozen items) are a little bit higher. They stock seasonal, local produce at affordable prices. Sometimes, they get a large batch of a harvest in and it’s dirt cheap. They had butternut squash on sale. I purchased a whole squash for about a buck. For the bargain hunters: sometimes, they will have 2nd grade produce dirt cheap. I got a bag of fancy Honeycrisp and Fuji apples for only $1. I made pies with these. There is abundant parking all around their building. Service is friendly and you can feel good about supporting a local business.
Amazing local produce market! I’m here almost every Monday. My normal bill here is about $13. That’s for lettuce, tomatoes, bananas, cukes, oranges, apples, artichokes, kale, onions, plums, broccoli and cauliflower. Sometimes I buy the local coffee or kefir or hummus which will bump it up to $20. I’m telling you, local produce, with REAL flavor that doesn’t go bad in a day or two. This place is the best. Sometimes they have butter lettuce and it’s hard I come by, but for a buck you can’t beat the taste or price. I’m cheap, so that’s sayin’ something. Love this place. They make me want to put good food in me.
This place is great! They have unbelievable prices and their product is of great quality. They may not have the biggest selection they more than make up for it with great customer service and outstanding value. I refuse to buy produce from Safeway, Lucky’s, Trader Joes, etc. It just isn’t the same. This place is better, more affordable, and friendlier. Highly Recommend! Plus they are a small business, Support Small Business!
Yes, a trip here to get produce but it is worth it! The prices are lower and there’s more variety in the product. Up until a month ago I would walk into a grocery store and pick up the same old fruit and veggies every time and not think twice. Since I discovered this gem I find that I’m eating a lot more variety in my fruit and trying vegetables that I never thought I would. The staff is always so helpful and friendly. As in other places I have gotten fruit like strawberries a little over ripe but when I did here they replaced it with no questions asked. You really can’t go wrong, just try it, you will be healthier for it.
This place is AWESOME!!! My favorite place to buy fresh veggies and fruits. I have been coming here for several years – every week. They have great, fresh local produce and lots of other unique grocery items. They sell great coffee beans and grounds, and the staff is always friendly. Their prices are reasonable and it’s a family owned business. Love to support the small, local businesses.
